Training & Assessment Routes
Novice Training
The novice route is a full training and assessment programme designed for operators with little or no prior experience. Training covers both the theoretical and practical elements, with assessment conducted by an NPORS-accredited instructor. Duration is 10 days from £1,900 + VAT.
Experienced Worker Test (EWT)
The EWT is an assessment-only route for operators who already have practical experience on the relevant machine. It is a shorter assessment that tests both knowledge and practical competence. Duration is 1 day at £375 + VAT. Previous experience must be demonstrated.
Course Outcome
Successful candidates who complete the Excavator 360° NPORS training or assessment will receive an NPORS operator card. Cards are issued directly by NPORS and are valid nationwide.
Depending on the route taken, candidates receive either a Traditional NPORS card or an NPORS CSCS-embossed card. The CSCS-embossed card satisfies site access requirements on projects where a CSCS card is required.
Operators who complete the novice route may also progress toward an NPORS CSCS Red Trained Operator card upon completion of a recognised NVQ, leading ultimately to the NPORS CSCS Blue Competent Operator card.
