What the course covers
- Primary survey and managing an emergency involving a child or infant
- CPR for infants and children
- AED use for paediatric casualties
- Choking in infants and children
- Unresponsive child or infant and recovery position
- Febrile convulsions and epileptic seizures
- Childhood illnesses and allergic reactions
- Head injuries and meningitis awareness
- Burns, scalds, bleeding and wounds in children
- Fractures and sprains in paediatric casualties
- Asthma, anaphylaxis and diabetes in children
Certification & Validity
Successful candidates receive the NUCO Paediatric First Aid certificate, valid for 3 years. This qualification is recognised for Ofsted registration purposes and meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Annual refresher training is recommended.
