  • Primary survey and managing an incident in a remote environment
  • CPR and AED use outdoors
  • Improvised equipment and carrying techniques
  • Hypothermia and environmental cold injuries
  • Heat illness and dehydration
  • Bites, stings and anaphylaxis in outdoor settings
  • Fractures and dislocations: improvised splinting
  • Head and spinal injuries in remote environments
  • Wound management without access to clinical facilities
  • Activating emergency services and communicating location

Certification & Validity

Successful candidates receive the NUCO Outdoor First Aid certificate, valid for 3 years. The course is designed to complement workplace first aid qualifications and is recognised by activity licensing bodies including the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA). Annual refresher training is recommended.
