About These Qualifications
Supervisory and management NVQs are designed for those who have progressed beyond trade-level roles and are now responsible for overseeing work, managing teams, or running construction projects. These qualifications demonstrate your competence in leadership, planning, and health and safety management.
The Gold CSCS card is for advanced craft workers and supervisors (Level 3-4), while the Black CSCS card is for construction managers and senior professionals (Level 5-7). Both cards require relevant NVQ qualifications and are increasingly demanded by major contractors and clients.
Like all our NVQs, supervisor and management qualifications are assessed on-site via the OSAT route. Your assessor will visit your workplace to observe your performance, conduct professional discussions, and help you build a robust portfolio of evidence.
Evidence Requirements
Evidence must be obtained using all of the following methods:
- Observation of performance by the assessor
- Witness testimony by an expert witness
- Professional discussion with the assessor
- Documentary evidence from the workplace
